Photographs taken with Tamron 28-300mm zoom lens using Minolta Dynax 5 camera. Getting eclipses in perfect focus is apparently quite difficult. The video movie was taken using an aging Panasonic NV-DA1B digital camera set on auto. The Libyan desert was heaving with thousands of people, mostly Libyans, even though this was hundreds of miles from any major town. Perfect viewing conditions. Temperature around 33C. Totality lasted just over 4 minutes. Location:   28° 14.543' N   21° 31.192' E
Me and Cameras To make the movie file not too large to download I have edited out about the middle 3 minutes of totality. The image was constant during that time so I have shown the more dramatic starting and finishing diamond rings, along with the comments and conversations of myself and those near me. A complete movie of the eclipse is around 20MB. If you want full totality send me an e-mail and I can send you the longer movie using You Send It. It will be in Quick Time Format.
